I moved to Houston in 1979, at which time I began working as
an academic advisor for international students. I have
always volunteered as an interpreter and translator, and
have been the Director of the English Department and ESL
Instructor at Refugee Services. Additionally, I worked
part-time as a foreign languages instructor at HCCS for 18
years. I taught and translated French, ESL, English, Latin,
and Arabic for both groups and individuals.
I was a licensed private investigator from 1996 to 1998 and
have experience working with attorneys. Additionally, I have
eleven years of experience managing, coaching, coordinating,
and training employees at health and fitness clubs. During
this time, I was a “Million-Dollar Achiever” and became
certified as a personal trainer. Furthermore, I have retail
management experience with two large department stores in
Houston.
For the past 11 years, I have owned and operated an
international translation and special services company. I
maintain professional memberships with HITA NAJIT, TAJIT,
AMA, HNN, and The 100 Club. My community service activities
include volunteering at the Houston Livestock Show and
Rodeo, Certified CPR-American Red
Cross/Greater Houston Area, membership and service at Grace
Presbyterian Church, participation with children’s
charities, service as a Girl Scout Junior Leader, membership
and volunteering for the Porsche Club of America, and the
West Side Station Police Department. Additionally, I served
as Vice President for the home owners association.
I am a Licensed Court Interpreter and Translator in the
State of Texas, I have been interpreting and translating for
over 29 years, and speak more than 5 languages. As a court
interpreter and translator I have worked in Federal,
Criminal, Civil, Pre-Trial, County, Juvenile, and City
Courts in Houston, Brownsville and Galveston. I have also
provided my services in Jails, Federal Detention Centers,
Immigration, Attorney’s and for the DPS.
I graduated from the University of Aleppo with a B.A. in
French Art Literature and Languages.
